Maxwell M. Scherzer is an American baseball pitcher for the Washington Nationals of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the first round and 11th overall in the 2006 MLB draft. Furthermore, he played for Detroit Tigers from 2010-2014.
Max has achieved numerous strikeout records: he is the tenth pitcher to win at least three Cy Young Awards, the fifth pitcher to throw more than one immaculate inning in his career, and the sixth pitcher to record two no-hitters in the same season.
