Sebastian started his career in 2003 when he was in open-wheel racing, winning the 2004 German Formula BMW Championship with altogether 18 victories from 20 races. In 2005, Sebastian was in the fifth position, winning the top rookie honors at Formula 3 Euro Series. The same year, he signed his first promotion as a test driver for Sauber in Formula One but was unable to bag the championship.

But later that year, Sebastian left the Red Bull team and joined Ferrari to begin the 2015 season. He, however, finished in third place in the year 2015 and fourth in the year 2016 with about seven podiums and 212 points.

Sebastian maintained his 100% podium success, having won in Australia and Bahrain and extending his lead to 13 points. Since 2010, his salary has received a hike of about 21% over the past few years. His net worth is estimated at $140 million.

After living together for four years, the lovebirds welcomed their daughter Emilie, born on 12 January 2014. A year later, they welcomed their second child, daughter Mathilda, born in September 2015.

Sebastian and his wife welcomed a new addition to their family. Hanna gave birth to their third child, a son before the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend, in 2019.

Sebastian is a family man and lives with his wife and three kids in a medieval-style farmhouse in Switzerland. He prefers being called a husband and father than a Formula One driver.
